As someone who predicted in 2015, shortly after his escalator speech, that Trump would be the next president of the US, the past nine years have been somewhat fun but mostly tiresome.
I applaud the stamina of the likes of Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald, who have kept on reporting the abuses of Hegemonic Liberalism that many of us have become aware of at least since GamerGate, and even found some joy in seeing the neophyte latecomers like Elon Musk joining the sport.
I have nothing else to add.
Humor and insight find common ground in simplicity: on this victorious day of a hopeful continuation of a political realignment that may deliver relief from the insanity that wants to bulldoze everything we’ve ever held precious in the broader West like a Glacier, on this day of a slight hope that this Glacier could be halted, I found the perfect reaction to all the salt one might encounter over Trump’s second victory:
Whenever I see a reaction from Leftists, Liberals, Socialists, Greens, Centrists, “honorable” Conservatives, colonial-mindset Atlanticists, and the rest — whether they are political analysts, full-time politicians, influencers, or journalists, both in Hungary and abroad— this simple tweet is my reaction to their grief.
I’m tired of all of you, I’ve been tired for years, and today is my well-deserved rest.
