I'm old enough to appreciate both the title and subtitle :)

But with a grain of salt; the "lack of consequences" of Hungarian conservative thought...

Last time I checked, we live in Red Queen's world, where you have to run like crazy just to stay out of criminal proceedings for having called a man a man.

Hungary having managed to STAY in that same place, while all the rest of Europe slides into oblivion, is actually a quite sizeable consequence.

Maybe it could be attributed to "Hungarians in general" and not to anything that any university did, but... in my experience of social dynamics in many countries, the effects of universities are practically impossible to underestimate.

If MCC is particularly useless *among a bunch of RW universities*, then of course yes.

But is that the case? What's the actual pulse across the bulk of the other Hungarian universities?

In West Europe, they're practically all gone and done for. And I know that in a lot of East Europe, it's half-half, with the sane side consistently losing...

Hungarians were indifferent to woke to begin with, and woke has been dead in the US since Trump's reelection. In Europe, it lacks the political capital to be pushed on the proles (the elites are unpopular due to housing and immigration, thus they push the Ukraine war as a distraction).

So, the problem MCC was supposed to solve in this regard is nonexistent atm.

Can people expect much of the same policies, just under a different (younger) leader?

It's a tossup, but more likely to land on the same. See my previous post.
